John Kadow

John Kadow has a strong background in medicinal chemistry, with extensive experience working for pharmaceutical companies. John is currently the VP and Head of Medicinal Chemistry at Alphina Therapeutics. Prior to that, they served as the Senior Director of Chemistry at ViiV Healthcare for six years.

John started their career at Bristol-Myers Squibb in 1986 and held the position of Group Director of Chemistry. During their tenure, they played a significant role in the discovery and development of various compounds, particularly in the areas of antiviral and oncology treatments. John mentored chemists at multiple research sites and has a substantial record of patent inventorship, publications, and presentations.

John Kadow's education history begins in 1976 when they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Hope College with honors of Magna Cum Laude. Continuing their academic pursuits, they attended Wayne State University from 1980 to 1985, where they completed their Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry. Following this, from 1985 to 1986, they pursued a postdoctoral program at Yale University in the field of Organic Chemistry.
