Chief Psychiatrist at Alpine Special Treatment Center

Dr. Miller joined Alpine Special Treatment Center, Inc. in 2006. He has over 20 years of clinical psychiatry experience including expertise is in diagnosing and treating Schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders, as well as Major Depression, Bipolar Disorder, and Substance Abuse.

As the Chief Psychiatrist, Dr. Miller’s responsibilities include oversight of quality assurance and managing the delivery of psychiatric services at Alpine Special Treatment Center, Inc. Dr. Miller is actively involved in integrating the work with other areas of Counseling & Psychiatric Services and the Health Services for the clients at Alpine Special Treatment Center, Inc. Dr. Miller is highly involved in providing clinical psychiatric care to Alpine Special Treatment Center, Inc. clients, and assessing; diagnosing and managing a wide variety of psychiatric conditions.

Concurrently serving as the Chief Psychiatrist at Alpine Special Treatment Center Inc., Dr. Miller also serves as the Medical Director of TMS Therapeutics in San Diego, Clinical Director Intensive Treatment Program at Sharp Grossmont Hospital, and holds medical appointments with UCSD Department of Psychiatry (Assistant Clinical Professor), and is a residential care Psychiatrist for the various board and care homes.

Dr. Miller received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UC Davis, also graduating from the UC Davis School of Medicine. Dr. Miller completed his psychiatric training at UC San Diego. Dr. Miller is currently a Diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Miller has been named a "Top Doc" by his peers in San Diego Magazine every year since 2011. He has also been listed as a Southern California "Top Doc" by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd in 2012 and 2013. In 2009 he was honored as “Clinician of the Year” at the San Diego County Mental Health Recognition Dinner.
