Mauricio Hernandez is a seasoned urban planning professional currently serving as a Senior Planning Associate at Alta Planning + Design, where responsibilities include managing complex planning and design projects while cultivating client relationships. As a Board Member of the Association of Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals, Mauricio focuses on ensuring the provision of vital resources to support diverse and equitable communities. Previous roles include Livability Planner for the City of Fort Lauderdale, where oversight of the LauderTrail initiative took place, and Project Planner at Toole Design Group, leading bike share service practices and developing master plans for bicycle and pedestrian networks. Additional experience includes positions with the District Department of Transportation, NCLR, the United Nations, the Organization of American States, and the Spain - US Chamber of Commerce. Mauricio holds a Master’s in Community and Urban Planning from the University of Maryland and dual Bachelor’s degrees in International Relations and Geography from Florida International University.
