Matt Nelson

As Chief Information Officer, Matt Nelson actively oversees Alta Resources’ global IT operations, infrastructure, and future growth strategy. Versed in technology, operations, and strategy execution, Matt has an extensive background in information systems – more than 20 years – and plays a major role in driving technology and information initiatives.

Since he started at Alta Resources in 2006, Matt has held various roles at Alta, including Project Manager, Director of Information Technology, Operations Manager, and Director of IT Infrastructure, where he oversaw a global team of engineers, provided technical strategy for computing infrastructure and was responsible for overall operations of secure computing resources. Matt moved into his current role as CIO in 2014 and has proven time and again he is a vital resource in ensuring the success of Alta’s technology strategy, now and in the future.

Matt received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in management information systems (MIS) from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire. Matt is a member of the Association for Information Technology Professionals and Help Desk Institute.
