Steven Frieson

Steven Frieson has a diverse work history in the engineering and architecture industry. Steven currently holds the position of Chief Operating Officer at Alta Planning + Design, where they have been working since September 2019. Prior to this, they served as a Principal at the same company starting from March 2018.

Before joining Alta Planning + Design, Frieson worked at Psomas as the Vice President of Transportation/Public Works for the LA/OC/IE region from January 2014 to February 2018. Steven also served as the President of BASE + Birge Engineering, a division of BASE Architecture, Planning & Engineering, Inc. from June 2011 to December 2013.

Frieson's professional journey started at Metcalf & Eddy in 1983 as an Engineer. Steven then transitioned to PBSJ as a Senior Engineer from 1988 to 1997. Following this, they worked at Boyle Engineering as a Managing Engineer for the OC-ONT region from September 1997 to April 2005.

Steven then served as the CEO of Arroyo Engineering Solutions from April 2005 to April 2008, and later transitioned to Birge Engineering as the CEO from May 2008 to June 2011.

Steven Frieson attended Stanford University from 1978 to 1982, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree.
