Theresa Amos Smullen

Theresa has been a strategic marketing communications and business development executive and consultant to tourism, retail, consumer brand, franchise enterprise, advertising agency, maritime, fitness, membership organizations and multimedia production companies for more than 25 years. Her Emmy award-winning work has been seen and heard on national, regional, and local broadcast, and as content supporting digital and industry trade events.

Theresa's diverse experience managing network TV and radio broadcast advertising clients, ad agency and media buying partner firms, cultural institution and attraction marketing departments, retail franchisors, internet start-ups, and public and private high tech, biotech maritime history and health & fitness organizations, gives her a solid foundation to manage projects and build business for clients needing a strategic, experienced, dependable partner.

Before founding Altair, she was executive producer and business development ambassador at San Diego's Four Square Productions, a respected full-service production company with clients nationwide. There she led the development of integrated broadcast campaigns, communication strategies and productions in the corporate, industrial, high technology, biotech, healthcare, consumer marketing and entertainment categories. Prior to joining Four Square she spent 15 years growing business for San Diego based franchisors, technology solution providers and advertising agencies.

Theresa is a member of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Pacific Southwest Chapter and has served on the Board of Governors. Her productions were awarded numerous Emmy's by the Chapter and she has also been honored with numerous other industry awards including Telly's, Asters, HCC Finest, and AMY's.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from the University of Colorado and is acknowledged in Sterling's Who's Who Executive Edition and Who's Who Women in Business. Theresa has played an active role in the community as a member of UCSD Connect, Healthcare Communicators, International Association of Business Communicators and BIOCOM. Volunteer activities include projects for the American Heart Association, BIOCOM, Community Options, National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Pacific South West Chapter, U.S. Olympic Sailing Committee, U.S. Disabled Sailing Championships and the Maritime Museum of San Diego.
