Alicia Morehead-Gee

Medical Director Of Inclusive Care at AltaMed

Alicia Morehead-Gee has a diverse work experience in the healthcare field. Alicia began their career as a Resident Physician in the UCSF Internal Medicine Residency Program, SF Primary Care Track from 2015 to 2018. During this time, they gained valuable experience in providing primary care to patients.

In 2018, Alicia joined the National Clinician Scholars Program as a Research Fellow. Here, they focused on conceptualizing and examining different models of primary care to improve HIV prevention efforts in underserved communities. Alicia also earned a Masters of Science in Health Policy and Management with an emphasis on implementation science, which will aid their in future projects utilizing technology and telehealth to address social determinants of health within primary care practices. Alicia stayed with the program until 2020.

Currently, Alicia serves as the Medical Director of HIV Prevention at AltaMed Health Services. In this role, they lead projects to integrate HIV prevention and pre-exposure prophylaxis healthcare into primary care settings. Their objectives include increasing awareness of HIV prevention tools among marginalized communities and reducing disparities in HIV incidence by providing compassionate care and addressing social determinants of health.

Alicia Morehead-Gee completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Human Biology at Stanford University. Subsequently, they pursued their medical education and earned a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from both Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science, as well as the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. More recently, they furthered their education at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health, where they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Health Policy and Management.
