Nydia Gómez

Altamed-cdu Health Career Opportunity Program Scholar at AltaMed

Nydia Gómez has a diverse range of work experience in various roles and industries. In 2018, they interned at the Downey Chamber of Commerce. In 2019, they volunteered as a medical volunteer at Crescent Clinic through Student Healthcare in Practice. Nydia also served as a Lead Researcher at Global Health Research, Education, and Translation (GHREAT) at UCI, where they conducted research on the effects of food insecurity on mental health among undergraduate students. Additionally, in 2020, they worked as an Academic Tutor at UCI Upward Bound Program. In 2021, Nydia became a scholar at AltaMed Health Services through the AltaMed-CDU Health Career Opportunity Program. In 2022, they joined The HELIOS Lab as a researcher and later interned at the SEARCH Lab as a Practicum Intern. Lastly, in 2023, they became a member of the UCI PRIME Academy.

Nydia Gómez started their education at Warren High School from 2015 to 2019, although no degree or field of study is specified. Nydia then attended UC Irvine from 2019 to 2023 and obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Public Health Sciences. In addition to their academic qualifications, Nydia also obtained several certifications from the CITI Program, including Human Subject Research Certification, Research and HIPAA Privacy Protections, and Social/Behavioral Investigators, all in August 2020.
