Victoria Derrick has a diverse work experience in the healthcare and nonprofit sectors. Victoria is currently working as a Senior Grant Writer at AltaMed Health Services. Prior to that, they ran their own consulting firm, Derrick Consulting, where they provided innovative healthcare consultation to nonprofit organizations in Los Angeles County. Victoria has also held positions such as Assistant Director of Health Education at Comprehensive Community Health Centers, where they oversaw health education services and ensured compliance with program scopes of work and external agency regulations. Victoria served as a Government Grants Writer at Foothill Family Service and was responsible for coordinating and generating grant funds. At East Valley Community Health Center, they worked as a Planning and Program Development Director and Health Promotion Director, where they developed and implemented collaborative programs for low-income uninsured/underinsured populations. Victoria also served as a Health Educator at the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services and as a Health Education Assistant/HIV Counselor at Huntington Beach Community Clinic. Additionally, they have experience in managing health education programs and services at Health Net (formerly Foundation Health) and coordinating the Resource Information and Guidance program at the American Cancer Society. Throughout their career, Victoria has demonstrated expertise in program planning, development, and implementation, grant development and writing, as well as building collaborative relationships with public, private, and community-based entities.
Victoria Derrick attended UC Irvine from 1986 to 1990, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Ecology. Victoria then pursued further education at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health from 1991 to 1993, obtaining a Master of Public Health degree with a focus on Behavioral Health Sciences.
