Jenny Lien is currently a Senior Machine Learning Developer at AltaML. Prior to this, they were a Data Scientist at Osperity from November 2019 to February 2021. At Osperity, Jenny was responsible for leading the company's efforts in machine learning and business intelligence product(s). This included researching, road-mapping, identifying opportunities in AI and designing optimal approaches to computer vision, business analytics, as well as budgeting, sourcing and integrating solutions with developers internally or third-party services. Jenny also initiated a data science development life cycle that adopted and improved based on the practice of a software sprint cycle with a more scientific approach, which allows experimenting and exploratory analysis while ensuring delivering valuable insights or products efficiently. In addition, Jenny implemented Business Intelligence reporting solutions with PowerBI dashboard to analyze and present key metrics and trends for internal stakeholders.
Jenny has also provided ML technical leadership and training sessions to in-house developers. Jenny has also handled the practical work of data processing, sampling, training, tuning, validating, and monitoring for various data science projects include multi-labels vehicle detection, construction site PPE detection, vehicle counting on videos, tank liquid level detection, smoke & fire classifier, opened-valve detector, anomaly identification, weather related event classification, acoustic signal analytics, image similarity analysis...etc with SQL, Python (Matplotlib, Keras, sklearn, Pandas) and AWS framework (Sagemaker, RDS, S3, Cloudwatch).
Jenny Lien has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Calgary. Jenny also has a Master of Science in Information Systems from Athabasca University. In addition, Jenny is a Machine Learning Engineer Nanodegree from Udacity and has completed an Applied Machine Learning course from The Data Incubator. Jenny is also a Data Scientist with Python certification from DataCamp. Furthermore, Jenny has a Front End Development Certification from freeCodeCamp. Finally, they have several certifications from Udemy, Databricks, Microsoft, and the Centre for Suicide Prevention.
