This platform transformed execution from a manual and heuristic driven process to a cutting edge cerebral optimization of how to trade efficiently in the market. This platform allowed Bridgewater to expand to new markets and regions, and provided significant returns for clients and investors.

Ian was also responsible for the software and teams that underpinned all of Bridgewater's position keeping, order management and connectivity. Ian grew the team from 3 junior engineers to 7 agile development teams covering all aspects of their trading, positions, and execution platforms. Ian transformed FX trading and expanded algorithmic trading with best in class platforms and algorithms for the currency markets. In addition, they designed Bridgewater's next generation technology platform for the launch of Optimal Portfolio.

Before big data was a buzzword, Ian scaled the firm's systems to handle expansion into equities research data. Ian took responsibility for software development related to macroeconomic and equity data management for Bridgewater's investment research building out the team, running the platforms, and expanding the breadth, performance, and scale of their systems and research.

Ian Cadieu is a 2006 graduate of Yale University, where they majored in Applied Mathematics and was a four-year varsity letter winner on the lacrosse team.
