Mohamed Barakat

Mohamed Barakat is a seasoned IT professional with extensive experience in subsurface UNIX and Linux system administration, application support, and exploration data management. Currently employed at Altea Energy since January 2021, Mohamed specializes in the installation, configuration, upgrade, and troubleshooting of Linux (RHEL) and UNIX (Solaris) systems, as well as administering Dell EMC Isilon OneFS. Previously, at Halliburton from May 2013 to December 2020, Mohamed served as a Senior Consultant, focusing on Linux and UNIX systems' support and hardware maintenance. Prior roles include Exploration Data Manager at GDF SUEZ, where Mohamed provided functional support for various applications, and Senior Exploration Data Management and Application Support at PETROBEL, specializing in data loading tasks related to seismic navigation and SEG-Y formats. Mohamed holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Ain Shams University, obtained in 2000.
