Alternatives For Girls
Alexandra Stewart is a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Detroit Mercy, focusing on Industrial/Organizational Psychology research and evaluation projects since August 2023. Concurrently, Alexandra serves as a Crisis Center Advocate for Alternatives For Girls, coordinating community resources for trauma-affected clients. Prior experience includes roles as a Patient Companion at Saint Mary Mercy Hospital, where care and advocacy were paramount, and a House Manager at Genesis In-Home Care, overseeing staff while fostering resident relationships. Additionally, Alexandra worked as a Residential Specialist at Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries, handling clerical tasks and communication. Educational credentials include a Master of Arts in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in the same field, all obtained from the University of Detroit Mercy, alongside an Associate of Arts from Wayne County Community College District and a High School Diploma from Farmington Central High School.

Alternatives For Girls helps girls and young women experiencing homelessness and other risks to avoid violence, early pregnancy, and exploitation; and helps them to explore and access the support, resources, and opportunities necessary to be safe, to grow strong, and to make positive choices for their lives.
