John Walthers

John Walthers has extensive experience in emergency response media and technical support. Currently serving as a Coast Guard Auxiliarist with the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary since September 2024, John has been with Altice USA since February 2019 as a Sales Operations Support Specialist and previously as a Senior Coordinator. John has worked as a Freelance Photographer for Newsday Media Group since January 2015, capturing emergency scenes in Suffolk County. Additionally, John holds the position of Senior Correspondent at 1st Responder News since September 2005, where responsibilities include photographing emergency scenes and writing reports for the publication. Prior experience includes roles as a Technical Support Representative at Cablevision, Freelance Reporter for Patch.com, and Freelance Photographer for Long Island FD Rant News. John managed a RadioShack store from January 2007 to April 2015, earning the Manager of the Month accolade three times. Educationally, John holds an Associate of Science degree in Criminal Justice/Police Science from Suffolk County Community College, obtained between 2008 and 2011.
