Maureen Bunger, PhD, MBA

Maureen Bunger, PhD, MBA has extensive experience in the life sciences industry. Maureen began their career in 2002 as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS). In 2006, they joined RTI International as a Research Biochemist, where they led a group of scientists applying mass spectrometry-based qualitative and quantitative proteomics towards biomarker discovery and mechanistic biological research. In 2012, they served as a Consultant at Cellular Dynamics International. From 2013 to 2017, they held various roles at Lonza, including Senior Product Manager ADME Tox Solutions and Product Manager ADME Tox Solutions. During this time, they also founded and served as Principal of ModernTox, LLC, a consultancy business aimed at helping small and medium sized life sciences tools businesses develop new products for pre-clinical and non-clinical drug development. From 2013 to 2015, they were Technical Director at Triangle Research Labs, LLC (now part of Lonza), where they were responsible for direct sales of primary human and animal hepatocyte cells for accounts in the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, and South US territories, and was the key account manager for two Northeast large pharmaceutical companies. In 2022, they joined Altis Biosystems as the Director of Product Management.

Maureen Bunger, PhD, MBA has a long and distinguished educational history. Maureen obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from Lewis & Clark College between 1988 and 1992. Maureen then earned their PhD in Toxicology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison between 1995 and 2001. Most recently, they completed their Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina Wilmington between 2019 and 2021.
