Dr. Arjmand is currently Professor of Otolaryngology and Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine, where he holds the Bobby Alford Endowed Chair in Pediatric Otolaryngology. At Texas Children’s Hospital, he is chief of the Otolaryngology service, and Director of Clinical Standards and Faculty Development for the Department of Surgery. Dr. Arjmand is also Adjunct Professor of Management in the Jones School of Business at Rice University, where he lectures in the MBA program and is involved in executive education program development. A native of Illinois, Ellis Arjmand attended Northwestern University in Chicago, where he earned his BS, MD, and PhD. After completing residency training in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Washington University in St. Louis, Dr. Arjmand remained at St Louis Children’s Hospital for fellowship training in Pediatric Otolaryngology. In addition to his medical education and training, Dr. Arjmand has a Master’s Degree in Medical Management from the Heinz School of Public Policy and Management at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, and he has completed the Advanced Management Program at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Dr. Arjmand is known for his expertise in pediatric otolaryngology, healthcare quality management, and innovative work in medical decision making. He previously held faculty appointments at Washington University in St. Louis, the University of Pittsburgh, and the University of Cincinnati.
