Terry Laird

Terry Laird serves as the General Manager of Operations at Alton Steel, Inc. since August 2014, overseeing EAF and Bar Mill operations, as well as maintenance, engineering, and purchasing at a mini mill SBQ bar producing facility. Prior to this role, Laird was the Director of Operations at NLMK Indiana from July 2007 to April 2014, managing operations and engineering for an EAF/LMF/Caster melt shop and hot rolling mill. Laird's earlier experience includes serving as Chief Consultant for Arcelor Mittal Research from April 2004 to July 2007, specializing in hot rolling mills and maintenance as part of an expert team. Laird began career at Arcelor Mittal Indiana Harbor, previously known as Inland Steel Co., where the position of General Manager of Operations Services was held for nearly three decades, leading central maintenance and various logistical operations. Laird holds a Master of Science in Business and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University Northwest.
