Achal Mahajan

Achal Mahajan is a scientist at Altos Labs, specializing in hybrid AI and physics-informed machine learning for data science since October 2022. Previously, Achal served as a Senior Application Engineer at MathWorks, where leadership of cross-functional teams focused on developing mechanistic mathematical models in SimBiology for pharmaceutical drug design. During a tenure as a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California San Diego, Achal advanced computational biophysical modeling tools to explore genome phase separation and DNA loop extrusion. Additional experience includes research in hydrodynamics at the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research and internships related to microfluidics and mass transfer at prestigious institutions. Achal holds a Ph.D. in Engineering Physics from UC San Diego and advanced degrees in Engineering Mechanics and Chemical Engineering.
