Lucas Reineke

Lucas Reineke is a Principal Scientist at Altos Labs since June 2022, previously serving as an Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine from July 2009 to July 2022. In the Department of Neuroscience, Lucas Reineke focused on the control of protein synthesis to investigate mechanisms underlying neurological diseases and learning deficits, developing rodent models for rare genetic conditions. In the Department of Molecular Physiology and Biophysics, research involved studying translation control and RNA granule assembly in breast cancer cells, specifically stress granules formed in response to various stressors. A postdoctoral associate in the Department of Molecular Virology and Microbiology under Dr. Richard Lloyd, Lucas Reineke explored stress granules in the context of viral infections. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Case Western Reserve University and a B.S. in Chemistry with a minor in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from John Carroll University.
