Colin Newman began their work experience in 2005 at Johnson Matthey as a Development Chemist, focusing on the research and development of catalytic converter products for trucks and buses. Colin later became a Senior Chemist, leading the development of catalytic convertors and filters for the heavy duty Diesel automotive sector. In 2011, Colin took on the role of Principal Scientist, where they led a team in developing and testing automotive catalytic converters and filters. Colin was then promoted to Global Technical Account Director in 2017, responsible for building and running a portfolio of global Key Accounts. Colin is currently the Head of Technical at Altro Ltd, where they oversee four departments and is accountable for delivering the company's innovation and technology strategy.
Colin Newman pursued their education in the field of Chemistry. Colin first attended Newcastle University from 1998 to 2001, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc. Hons) degree and a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree. Colin then went on to Queen's University Belfast, where they earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Chemistry from 2001 to 2005.
In addition to their academic qualifications, Colin Newman has achieved additional certifications. Colin became a Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (MRSC) in January 1999. Recently, in February 2021, they acquired the certification for Quality Management Foundations from LinkedIn.
