Eva Smets has a diverse work experience starting in 2011. Eva began their career as a Business Analyst at Evalueserve and then worked as a Financial Analyst at Scotiabank Chile. In 2012, they joined Acalis Chile, where they held various roles over the years. Initially, they served as a CFO, responsible for developing back-office systems and procedures. Eva successfully contributed to the company's growth from 70 to 1,000 beds and led a team of 8 people. Eva then became the CFO and HR Manager, demonstrating an efficient operating model and tripling the company's expansion in Chile from 293 to 782 beds. Additionally, they played a key role in raising funds for the business's continuity and expansion. Later, Eva was appointed as the Deputy Country Manager, overseeing the company's growth and market leadership in Chile. Eva also played a crucial role in expanding operations to Colombia. In their most recent role at Acalis Chile, Eva served as the Country Manager, leading the executive team in transitioning the company to a post-Covid world. Eva was responsible for the financial and operational results of the organization in Chile, as well as supporting international expansion in Colombia and Uruguay. Eva's skills include strategic planning, financial management, team leadership, and fostering a culture of participative leadership. Outside of their work at Acalis Chile, Eva has been a member of REDMAD · Red de Mujeres en Alta Dirección since 2018. In 2022, they joined Altum Lab as the CFO & Strategy Manager.

Eva Smets completed their Bachelor's degree in Commercial Engineering from KU Leuven in 2008. Eva then pursued a Master's degree in the same field at KU Leuven from 2008 to 2010. Additionally, in 2008, they also attended Singapore Management University and achieved a degree in Commercial Engineering with cum laude honors. In 2009, Eva briefly studied at Universidad de Monterrey and received a degree in Commercial Engineering with magna cum laude honors.
