Nathan Tran

Presidential Assistant at Alumni Scholars Club at UCLA

Nathan Tran is a dedicated fellow in Biostatistics and Computational Biology at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and a research assistant in Machine Learning at UCLA Medical Imaging Informatics, where significant contributions include developing an accurate lung cancer nodule characterization model. As External Outreach Director for the National Student Data Corps at UCLA, Nathan facilitates workshops and a student-led Data Science Career Fair while championing inclusivity in the data science community. Leadership roles encompass directing the UCLA Association of Chinese Americans, enhancing cultural and civic engagement, and acting as a Presidential Assistant for the Alumni Scholars Club, fostering connections between alumni and students. Prior research experience at the David Geffen School of Medicine involved studying glucose transporters linked to Alzheimer’s, alongside robust lab skills in sample processing and equipment maintenance. Nathan is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computational and Systems Biology with a minor in Data Science Engineering at UCLA.
