Marcelo Costa has a wealth of experience in the finance industry, spanning over 25 years. Marcelo currently holds the position of CFO - Generation & Transmission at ALUPAR since 2017. In this role, they are responsible for managing 7 operational generation assets and 6 operational transmission assets. Additionally, Marcelo oversees a CAPEX implementation and financing of approximately BRL 4.5 billion in power transmission projects. Prior to ALUPAR, Marcelo held the position of EVP, CFO & IRO at ENEVA, where they played a key role in implementing gas-to-wire in Brazil. Marcelo also served as the CFO for Grupo Bolonesi, leading a company with 1,160 MW of electric generation installed capacity. Marcelo began their career at BankBoston as a Senior Credit Analyst and later worked at Standard & Poor's as Director and Team Leader for Infrastructure and Project Finance before joining ALUPAR. Throughout their career, Marcelo has demonstrated strong financial acumen and expertise in areas such as debt management, structured finance, accounting, investor relations, and project finance.

Marcelo Costa's education history includes a Master's degree in Economics and Finance from Insper Instituto de Ensino e Pesquisa, obtained between 2013 and 2014. Marcelo also completed a business administration program at Universidade de Pernambuco from 1992 to 1996. In addition, Marcelo attended the AFP - Senior Executive Program at The Wharton School from 2020 to 2022. Marcelo has also obtained several certifications from Wharton Executive Education, including courses in strategy and management, advanced finance, corporate valuation, mergers and acquisitions, distressed asset investing and corporate restructuring, private equity, venture capital, and becoming a strategic partner as a CFO.
