Director Of Fine Arts at Alvarado ISD

Hans Grim has a diverse work experience in the field of music and education. Hans currently holds the position of Director of Fine Arts at Alvarado ISD, where they started in 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Local Coordinator for international high school students with CIEE Council on International Educational Exchange starting in 2023. Hans also served as the Assistant Conductor of the Dallas Symphony Children's Chorus at the Dallas Symphony Orchestra from 2022 onwards. Hans was the Head Choir Director at Alvarado High School from 2021, and before that, they worked as a Guest Pianist at Congregation Beth-El in 2019. Hans also held the position of Service Musician / Media and Database Specialist at First United Methodist Church Fort Worth from 2015 to 2021. Hans worked as a Collaborative Pianist at Texas Christian University from 2019 to 2021 and as a Guest Music Director at Brookhaven College until 2020. Hans was also a Choir Director at Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts in 2018 and held various roles as a Choir Director at Fort Worth ISD from 2012 to 2018. Overall, Hans has gained extensive experience in music education and performance throughout their career.

Hans Grim has a diverse education history spanning several institutions and fields of study. Hans began their educational journey at The University of Texas at Austin in 1994, where they focused on choral music education. After completing their studies there in 1995, Hans went on to attend Texas Wesleyan University from 1996 to 2012, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Music Performance, with a general focus.

In 2010 to 2011, Hans attended Weatherford College to pursue studies in jazz and jazz studies. Later on, in 2011, they briefly enrolled at the University of North Texas, where they focused on music history, literature, and theory.

Hans continued their education journey in 2021, enrolling at Tarleton State University. Over the course of two years, from 2021 to 2023, they pursued a Master of Music degree in Music Education.

In addition to their formal education, Hans has obtained several certifications. In August 2012, they obtained a Teaching Certification in Music, Theatre, PE, Dance, and Tech Applications from the Texas Education Agency. Hans also holds certifications in Responsible Conduct of Research, Revised Common Rule, and Social and Behavioral Research - Basic/Refresher, which they obtained in May 2021 from the CITI Program, A Division of BRANY.
