Carol Nelson

Superintendent at Alvin High School

Superintendent Carol Nelson has passionately served the students, parents, and staff of Alvin ISD. Before assuming the role of Superintendent, Mrs. Nelson served as a campus teacher, librarian, assistant principal, principal, and Associate Superintendent, all in Alvin ISD. Her 3 children went through the school system as well as her husband, Bill. Nelson earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Education from University of Houston Clear Lake.

Superintendent Nelson is very active in the community. She served on the Board of the City of Alvin Library for several years where she held the position of President. In addition, she also served the community by participating on the Alvin Community College Foundation Board for 15 years.

Mrs. Nelson is dedicated to providing an environment that enhances the learning and development of each student. Her goal is to continue the legacy of academic excellence that Alvin ISD has provided for many years.
