Mahmud Shammam

Mahmud Shammam serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Alwasat Media Group since June 2013 and previously held the position of CEO at Libya Al ahrar TV from March 2011 to June 2014. Mahmud Shammam contributed as an Advisory Council Member at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace Middle East from January 2010 to January 2014, and served as Editor in Chief of the Arabic edition of Foreign Policy from March 2008 to March 2011. Additionally, Mahmud Shammam was a member of the Board of Directors at Aljazeera from June 2006 to June 2009 and held the role of Managing Editor at Newsweek In Arabic from May 1997 to June 2006. Academic qualifications include a Master's Degree in Social and Philosophical Foundations of Education from Michigan State University and a Bachelor's Degree in Geography from Garyounis University.
