Denka Markova

Denka Markova, PhD has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of biostatistics. Starting in 2007, Markova served as an Introductory Statistics Course Instructor at Baylor University, where they taught various statistical methods. From 2008 to 2010, they worked as a Statistical Consultant for Baylor University's Department of Statistical Science, Social Work Department, and Department of Psychology and Neuroscience, providing statistical analysis for research projects and publications. In 2008, Markova also served as a Curves* Study Statistical Consultant, analyzing data and presenting results for a study on the effects of a fitness program on overweight women. From 2010 to 2011, they worked as a Statistical Consultant at the FDA, conducting data mining procedures and analyzing datasets for drug evaluations using SAS programming. Markova then joined Axio Research in 2011, where they served as a Biostatistician and later as a Project Manager/Senior Biostatistician, overseeing project activities and providing statistical support. In 2014, they worked as a Senior Biostatistician at Medivation before moving on to Pfizer as an Associate Director Biostatistics in 2017. At Ascendis Pharma, Markova held positions as Associate Director and later Director of Biostatistics between 2018 and 2022. Currently, Markova works as the Director of Biostatistics at ALX Oncology starting from 2022.

Denka Markova, PhD, completed their education with a Ph.D. in Statistical Science from Baylor University, which they obtained from 2006 to 2010. Prior to that, they received their M.S. in Statistical Science from Baylor University, completing it from 2006 to 2008. Their undergraduate studies were at Henderson State University, where they earned a B.S. in Mathematics and Physics from 2002 to 2006. Denka's secondary education took place at OMG Akad. Kiril Popov, where they pursued Mathematics, Computer Science, and English from 1997 to 2002.
