David R. Weinreb

Known for his passion, tenacity, and entrepreneurial spirit, David R. Weinreb is a real estate veteran who served as cofounder, CEO and a member of the Board of Directors of The Howard Hughes Corporation from 2010 to 2019. Mr. Weinreb directed the company's efforts since its inception, building a portfolio of some of the most sought-after real estate in the country. His vision, leadership, and acumen led him to be honored with the 2013 Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year® Award in Real Estate for the region. Additionally, he was named as one of the Top 200 CEOs in the U.S. by ExecRank and listed multiple times in the Commercial Observer Power 100 as one of the most powerful people in New York City real estate.

Prior to leading the emergence of The Howard Hughes Corporation as a publicly traded company, Mr. Weinreb spent 17 years as sole owner, Chairman and CEO of TPMC Realty Corporation, a company he built into a multi-faceted investment firm.

Mr. Weinreb began his real estate career in the 1980s in New York City. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and the Urban Land Institute. Mr. Weinreb's deep commitment to philanthropy spans local and national causes, including serving on the national board of the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation.

Founded in 1998 by Leonard A. Lauder and Ronald S. Lauder, the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation (ADDF) was one of the first charities to adopt the venture philanthropy model. Our mission is to rapidly accelerate the discovery of drugs to prevent and treat Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. We are the only charity focused solely on supporting new drugs for Alzheimer’s.
