Cong Chen

Cong Chen is an accomplished Applied Scientist at Amazon Web Services, specializing in 2D/3D Machine Learning and contributing to the GenAI Innovation Center since May 2022. With a strong publication record, Cong has authored eight papers and patents, having two first-author works selected for oral presentations at significant conferences. Prior experience includes a Research Scientist role at GCAPS focused on autonomous vehicle perception, and a Graduate Research Assistant position at Virginia Tech, where Cong conducted research in robotics and autonomous vehicle hardware integration. Additional roles include research positions at Roadstar.ai and S3C Inc, and engineering internships at Siemens, Mercedes-Benz, General Motors, and Jasmin International Auto R&D. Cong holds a PhD in Computer Engineering from Virginia Tech, a Master’s degree in Robotics from UC Berkeley, and a Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Engineering from Hefei University of Technology.
