Luciana Buriol

Luciana Buriol is a Principal Research Scientist at Amazon, a role they have held since 2021. Before this, they served as an Associate Professor in the Computer Science Department at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul from 2006 to 2021. Luciana also worked as a postdoc at Sapienza Università di Roma from 2004 to 2005, focusing on algorithms for massive datasets. Their early career included a position as a Visiting Student at AT&T Labs, Inc. from 2001 to 2002, where they contributed to optimization and network engineering problems. Luciana earned both a Master's and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, with an emphasis in Optimization, from Universidade Estadual de Campinas, and holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from UFSM.
