Nolan van Rossum

Nolan van Rossum currently serves as a Propulsion Test Engineer at Amazon, a position held since September 2025. Prior to this role, Nolan worked as a Research Scientist at Zap Energy from June 2021 to August 2025 and as an Experimental Plasma Physicist (Aeronautical Engineer) at Lockheed Martin from August 2019 to June 2021, where responsibilities included managing the development of diagnostics for high vacuum plasma environments. Earlier experience includes serving as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, focusing on plasma experiments for detecting nuclear material. Nolan holds a Master’s Degree in Nuclear Engineering and Engineering Physics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Bachelor’s Degree in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering with a minor in Physics from Iowa State University.
