David Barranco

David Barranco is the Senior Managing Director and Head of Risk Management at Ambac Financial Group. David has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry.

David started their career as a rating analyst with Standard & Poor's Structured Finance Ratings Group. David then moved to Ambac Assurance Corp., where they served as First Vice President, Portfolio Risk Manager. In 2005, David joined Ambac Assurance UK Ltd. as Director, European Structured Finance. David remained with the company until 2008.

David has been with Ambac Financial Group since 2008. David was promoted to Senior Managing Director and Head of Risk Management in 2016.

David Barranco has a certificate in the RMA Wharton Advanced Risk Management Program from Wharton Executive Education. David also has a certificate in Mergers & Acquisitions from Wharton Executive Education. David Barranco earned their MBA in Finance from Fordham Gabelli School of Business and their BA in Economics from University of Vermont.

David Barranco reports to Claude LeBlanc, President & CEO. They are on a team with Lisa Kampf - Managing Director, Investor Relations, Dan McGinnis - Senior Managing Director, Chief Operating Officer, and David Trick - Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer.
