Jonathan Carchman

Jonathan Carchman, CFA has a strong background in the financial industry with diverse roles and experience. Jonathan began their career at MacKay Shields as a Fixed Income Analyst, where they actively managed a multi-billion dollar portfolio of fixed income securities. In this role, they conducted in-depth analysis of financial statements and other factors to identify undervalued bonds.

Afterward, Carchman joined Bayerische Landesbank as a Vice-President in Asset Management. During their time there, they were responsible for researching and monitoring securities for the bank's portfolio and conduits. Jonathan also designed and implemented portfolio management and surveillance systems to analyze the performance and risk of structured securities.

Later, Carchman worked at ING U.S. as a Vice-President and Portfolio Manager. Jonathan led a team that managed credit-sensitive securities for client portfolios and successfully created a credit-sensitive ABS portfolio specializing in CMBS.

Most recently, Carchman served as a Managing Director at Ambac Assurance Corporation. In this role, they managed a department responsible for analyzing and modeling the performance of a multi-billion dollar fixed income portfolio. Jonathan also designed methodological approaches to analyze and project the performance of insured structured, corporate-related, and municipal portfolios.

Throughout their career, Carchman has demonstrated strong leadership skills, the ability to create effective portfolio management and analysis infrastructure, and a solid understanding of credit risk management and reporting.

Jonathan Carchman, CFA, holds a Master of International Affairs degree in International Finance from Columbia | SIPA, which they obtained from 1997 to 1999. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from Colby College. Additionally, Carchman has obtained the Chartered Financial Analyst certification.
