Kate Smith

Kate Smith started their work experience in 2000 as an Editor/Writer for The Star-Ledger, where they covered NCAA Division 1 basketball and high school sports. Kate then worked as a Copywriter for Lorelli Associates, specifically working on Barbara Corcoran's account, writing ads for The Corcoran Group. In 2011, Kate transitioned to Merrill Lynch as part of the Marketing Communications team. Kate then joined AM Best in 2012, starting as a Senior Associate Editor before being promoted to Managing Editor, where they played a strategic role in steering the direction of news coverage. Kate also served as the Associate Director of Public Relations, expanding global media coverage. Kate is currently working as the Vice President and Director of Communications at Ambac, a bond insurer.

Kate Smith attended Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism where they earned their M.S. degree in Journalism. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies at Canisius University, where they received a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in History.
