Zhen Zhang

Sr. Director at Ambagon Therapeutics

Zhen Zhang has worked in the biopharmaceutical industry since 2003. Zhen started their career as a Pre Doctoral Fellow at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they studied the function of transcription factors downstream of Ras/MAPK pathway for limb development and created a conditional knockout mouse model. In 2011, they became a Postdoc at Genentech, where they studied the molecular mechanism of Ras/MAPK regulation on an E3 ligase complex, and its involvement in colorectal and lung tumor formation, and lung regeneration. In 2016, they joined NGM Biopharmaceuticals as a Senior Scientist and Scientist II, where they identified immuno-oncology drug targets and led two receptor de-orphanization projects. In 2018, they moved to Vera Therapeutics, Inc. as a Principal Scientist, where they developed bispecific antibodies and generated and validated proof-of-concept bispecific antibodies from literature sequences. Currently, Zhen Zhang is employed at Ambagon Therapeutics as a Sr. Director and Director of Cancer Biology.

Zhen Zhang obtained a BS in Genetics from Fudan University from 1995 to 1999. Zhen then went on to obtain an MS in Genetics from Fudan University from 1999 to 2002. Finally, they obtained a PhD in Genetics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 2003 to 2009.
