Ruben Alava

Ruben Alava is an experienced project manager specializing in good governance and civil society initiatives, currently working at AMBERO Consulting GmbH since April 2019. Prior roles include serving as network coordinator for the Promotor*innenprogramm at Entwicklungspolitischesnetzwerk Rheinland-Pfalz (ELAN e.V.) and as a Good Governance Consultant for Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, where responsibilities encompassed program leadership, public institution management, and capacity development focused on indigenous communities. Additional consultancy roles include advising on indigenous rights for the Ecuadorian Ministry and contributing to constitutional reform efforts in Ecuador. Ruben holds a Master's degree in Conflict and Sustainable Peace from KU Leuven, a senior tax professional qualification from Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar, and a Doctorate in Law from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador.
