Stephen McKinley

Stephen McKinley is a co-founder and VP of Operations at Ambi Robotics. Stephen was previously a Co-Creator at Berkeley Open Arms, a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley, and a Graduate Researcher at UC Berkeley. Stephen has also worked as a Lead Mechanical Engineer at Quantum Energy Storage Corporation. Stephen has a background in designing and building prototype devices and experimental methods for robotic autonomous surgery, and they have also designed control architectures for embedded systems in quasi-active robotic devices.

Stephen McKinley received their Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to that, they received their Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the same school. Stephen completed their Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

They are on a team with Jeff Mahler - Co-founder & CTO, Matthew Matl - Co-founder & VP of Software. Stephen McKinley reports to Jim Liefer, CEO.
