Associate Director - Sales Strategy And Operations at Ambition Institute

Thomas Blackburn has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Thomas started their career as a Library Assistant at Bolton Council in October 2006 and worked there until July 2013. In October 2012, they also interned as a UKBA Relations Intern at the University of Manchester until June 2013.

In June 2013, Thomas joined Alliance Manchester Business School as a Programme Administrator for the DBA Programme, where they efficiently and effectively administered the programme from application to graduation. From May 2015 to August 2018, they took on the role of DBA Programme Coordinator, where they coordinated the entire student journey and external presence of the programme.

Thomas then moved to The University of Manchester as an HCRI Coordinator, where they managed partnerships and relationships with international organizations, provided administrative support to academic colleagues, supervised junior administrative colleagues, and project managed new teaching/training programmes.

In May 2021, Thomas joined The Manchester Metropolitan University as a Business Support Administrator for Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP), where they coordinated activities across a large portfolio of projects with multiple partners and sectors, maintained information systems and databases, and reported on financial statements and claims.

Currently, Thomas is working at Ambition Institute since July 2022 as a Sales Manager. Thomas utilizes a consultative sales method to build relationships with large multi-academy trusts, identify their development needs, and offer CPD solutions.

Thomas has recently been promoted to Associate Director - Sales Strategy and Operations at Ambition Institute, starting September 2023.

Thomas Blackburn earned a degree in MCHEM Chemistry with study in North America from The University of Manchester in 2012. In 2010 and 2011, they also pursued the same degree at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
