Clinical Practice Development Project Lead at Ambulance Victoria

Richard Armour has a diverse work experience in the field of paramedicine and healthcare. Richard is currently working at Ambulance Victoria as a Clinical Practice Development Project Lead and as a member of the Clinical Practice Guideline Committee. Richard is also a Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance (MICA) Paramedic at the same organization. Prior to this, Richard worked as a Sessional Academic at Charles Sturt University. Richard has also served as a Senior Fellow at the McNally Project for Paramedicine Research. In addition, Richard has worked at BC Emergency Health Services as a Paramedic Practice Leader, Paramedic Specialist, and Advanced Care Paramedic. Richard has also held the role of an Associate Faculty at the Justice Institute of British Columbia. Before that, Richard worked as a Paramedic at the London Ambulance Service NHS Trust and as a Volunteer Firefighter at the NSW Rural Fire Service. Richard started their career in healthcare as a Wardsperson at NSW Health.

Richard Armour has a Bachelor of Paramedic Practice from the University of Tasmania, which they obtained from 2013 to 2015. Richard then pursued a Master of Science in Advanced Emergency Care at The University of Sheffield from 2017 to 2020. From 2019 to 2021, Richard completed a Master of Paramedicine (Critical Care) at Charles Sturt University. Currently, they are pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Paramedicine at Monash University, starting in 2022.
