Asit then attended Vanderbilt University School of Medicine where they received their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biochemistry. After completing their Internal medicine residency program at the University of Pennsylvania, they pursued postdoctoral studies in Cancer Biology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Asit is currently a Fellow in Gastroenterology at Harvard Medical School - Massachusetts General Hospital.
