John Nelson, MS, CSP, CHMM, is an experienced professional in explosive ordnance disposal and safety management. Currently serving as the 10AF EOD Functional Manager and an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician with the United States Air Force since April 2010, John specializes in the location, identification, assessment, rendering safe, transport, and disposal of hazardous explosive ordnance and devices. Additionally, John has worked as a UXO Safety Officer and Quality Control Specialist with Amentum since July 2020 and served as an Explosives Detection Analyst at the World Trade Center in Manhattan from March 2014 to June 2017. John holds a Master of Science in Safety Management from West Virginia University and a Bachelor of Arts in Emergency and Disaster Management from American Military University, along with an Associate of Science in Explosive Ordnance Disposal from the Community College of the Air Force and an Associate of Occupational Studies in Automotive Technology from Universal Technical Institute, Inc.
