George Mues

George Mues is a retired Principal Engineer who worked at Ameren from May 2006 to present, focusing on research and development aimed at reducing the company's carbon footprint through renewable energy, energy efficiency, and carbon capture technologies. Prior to this role, George held the position of Consulting Engineer in New Generation & Environmental Projects, where notable achievements included developing a process for in-house cleaning of SCR catalysts, resulting in significant cost savings. Additionally, George served as the Director of Strategic Initiatives at Ameren from October 2002 to May 2005, leading efforts to minimize energy losses related to boiler tube failures. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Engineering Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology, along with a Black Belt certification in Six Sigma Problem Solving from GE Six Sigma School.
