During her 16 year tenure at the California energy utility, she served in a variety of legal, regulatory and customer-focused roles including Managing Counsel and Senior Director. Prior to joining the California energy utility, Nwamu was in private practice at a commercial litigation law firm in Philadelphia, PA where she specialized in complex commercial litigation including pharmaceutical products liability defense.

Nwamu previously served as president of the Conference of California Public Utility Counsel. She was also selected to participate as a Fellow in the Leadership Council for Legal Diversity, and the International Women's Forum leadership programs.

Chonda Nwamu

Mark Birk is chairman and president of [Ameren](/org/ameren) Missouri, an electric and natural gas delivery utility subsidiary of [Ameren](/org/ameren) Corporation and Missouri's largest utility. Birk has held many leadership positions in his more than 35-years at [Ameren](/org/ameren), including progressively more responsible roles overseeing customer and power operations, energy delivery, strategic planning, energy trading, enterprise risk management, safety and nuclear corporate oversight.
In his prior role as [Ameren](/org/ameren) Missouri's senior vice president for customer and power operations, he was responsible for the engineering, construction, operations and maintenance of [Ameren](/org/ameren) Missouri's electric and natural gas distribution systems and non-nuclear generation and energy management, as well as customer experience operations for more than 1 million electric and natural gas customers. He has been a member of [Ameren](/org/ameren)'s Executive Leadership Team since 2014.

Birk began his career with the company in 1986 supporting the Callaway Energy Center. In 1989, he joined the company’s Meramec Energy Center. In 1996, he was promoted to supervisor in transmission operations, and subsequently held a series of successively more responsible positions. He was promoted to general manager of energy delivery technical services in 2001; to vice president of energy trading in 2003; to vice president of power operations in 2005; to senior vice president, corporate strategy and enterprise risk management in 2012; and to senior vice president, corporate safety, strategy and nuclear operations oversight in 2014.

Warner Baxter is executive chairman of St. Louis-based [Ameren](/org/ameren) Corporation, parent company of rate-regulated energy companies that serve more than 2.4 million electric and nearly 1 million natural gas customers in Illinois and Missouri. The company, which also develops regional electric transmission projects, had 2020 revenues of approximately $6 billion.
During his more than 25-year tenure at [Ameren](/org/ameren), Baxter has served in a variety of leadership roles, including chairman, president and chief executive officer of [Ameren](/org/ameren), a role he held from 2014 through 2021. He had previously served as chief financial officer and president of [Ameren](/org/ameren) Missouri.

Before joining [Ameren](/org/ameren) in 1995, Baxter served as senior manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers' national office in New York City, serving as one of the firm’s liaisons with the major accounting standard-setting bodies in the United States. From 1983 to 1993, Baxter worked in the firm’s St. Louis office, where he provided auditing and consulting services to clients in a variety of industries, including the energy industry.

Marty Lyons was named president and chief executive officer of [Ameren](/org/ameren) and a member of the board of directors effective January 1, 2022. Lyons was previously chairman and president of [Ameren](/org/ameren) Missouri, a position he held for two years after previously serving 18 years in a variety of positions within [Ameren](/org/ameren).
As [Ameren](/org/ameren) Missouri president, Lyons led Missouri's largest investor-owned energy provider through the COVID-19 pandemic. In his time as president, he improved customer satisfaction, safety and operating performance. Lyons was elected executive vice president and CFO of [Ameren](/org/ameren) Corporation in 2009 and additionally, president of [Ameren](/org/ameren) Services in 2015. As CFO, Lyons was responsible for capital allocation and capital markets activities. This included $1.1 billion of equity financing, $8 billion of debt financing and multiple credit facility extensions. During his tenure, [Ameren](/org/ameren)'s issuer credit rating at S&P and Moody's improved from BBB to BBB+ and Baa3 to Baa1, respectively. [Ameren](/org/ameren)'s market capitalization grew fourfold, which along with a 23% increase in the dividend, produced compound annual total shareholder returns of 15%.

Lyons was instrumental in the strategic decision to reposition [Ameren](/org/ameren) as a pure-play rate-regulated utility. In 2013, he led execution of the sale of the merchant generation business segment.

Lyons earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration accounting from Saint Louis University and holds a master's degree in business administration from Washington University in St. Louis. In addition, he has completed The Advanced Strategy Program at The Chicago Booth School of Business and the Reactor Technology Course for Nuclear Executives at MIT.
