Sean Licata has a diverse range of work experience. Sean began their career as a Research Analyst at Cushman & Wakefield from 1998 to 2005. Sean then worked as a Teacher in the NYC Department of Education from 2005 to 2011. As an Aspiring Principal in the NYC Leadership Academy from 2011 to 2012, they facilitated curriculum planning meetings and created personalized learning plans. Sean became a Principal in the NYC Department of Education from 2012 to 2018, where they implemented research-based instructional practices and fostered collaboration among principals. Since 2018, Sean has been at the American Academy Casablanca, first serving as the Primary Director and later as the Deputy Head of School. In these roles, they implemented improvements such as seeking accreditation, enhancing teacher retention, and standardizing operations. Sean also oversaw orientation programs, policy development, and community outreach.
Sean Licata has an education history that includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the City University of New York-College of Staten Island. Sean also holds a Master of Education degree from Fordham University. Currently, Sean is pursuing a Doctor of Education degree in EdD from St. Thomas University. Additionally, they have completed a program in School Building Leadership from Baruch College.
