Kevin Volkema

Kevin Volkema, DO, is an experienced medical professional currently serving as the Director of Medical Operations at Sentara Healthcare and as an AFP Journal Reviewer for the American Academy of Family Physicians. In addition, Kevin is a Digital Health Fellow at Doximity and a member of The DO Editorial Advisory Board for the American Osteopathic Association. Previously, Kevin worked as a Family Medicine Physician and Health Systems Clinical Faculty at Northwestern Medicine and Northwestern University, respectively, and served as Adjunct Faculty at Midwestern University. Kevin also completed residency at Northwestern University, where Kevin held the position of Chief Resident and received the AFMRD Family Medicine Resident Award for Advocacy. Kevin holds a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Midwestern University, an MBA from Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and a Bachelor's degree in Spanish from the same university.
