Lauren Inouye

Chief Advancement Officer at American Academy of Nursing

Lauren Inouye currently serves as the Chief Advancement Officer and Chief Program Officer at the American Academy of Nursing since March 2021. In addition, Lauren holds the position of Adjunct Professor in Health Policy at Georgetown University School of Nursing & Health Studies since May 2014. Previous roles include Vice President of Public Policy and Government Affairs at the Council of Graduate Schools from May 2018 to February 2021, and Director of Government Affairs at the American Association of Colleges of Nursing from July 2016 to April 2018, where prior positions included Associate Director and Government Affairs and Grassroots Manager. Earlier experience includes serving as a Registered Nurse in the Medical ICU at Georgetown University Hospital from August 2008 to November 2011, alongside leadership roles such as Co-Chair of the Legislative Council, and working as a Student Nursing Assistant in the Trauma/Burn ICU at Michigan Medicine from 2006 to 2008. Education credentials include a Master’s in Public Policy from Georgetown University and a Bachelor’s in Nursing from the University of Michigan.
