Michael Weinand

Michael Weinand has a diverse work experience spanning over 17 years. Michael is currently working as the Associate Director of Product Development & Delivery at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) since February 2022. Prior to this, they held the role of Project Manager at the American Medical Association from October 2021 to February 2022.

From 2014 to 2021, Michael worked at Start Early, where they served as the Assistant Director of Product Management. Michael was responsible for developing a standardized approach to learning and product design, collaborating with instructional services and product teams, and translating customer and market needs into scalable solutions. Before that, they were the Manager of eLearning and Instructional Services at Start Early from November 2014 to June 2018.

In 2013, Michael worked as a Project Manager for Adaptive Learning at Career Education Corporation. Michael also briefly served as the Director of Instructional Design at Everspring Inc. the same year.

During their tenure at Kaplan Higher Education from 2008 to 2013, Michael held various roles including Manager of Program Design and Instructional Designer. Michael also gained teaching experience as a Teacher at Huntington Learning Center from 2005 to 2008. Earlier in their career, they worked as an Instructional Designer at Accenture and as a Learning & Training Consultant at BearingPoint.

Michael started their career as a Drama Instructor at Lincoln Park Cultural Center in 2005.

Michael Weinand received their B.A. in Secondary Education with a focus on Speech, Theatre, and Natural Science from Concordia University Chicago in the years 2002-2005. Michael is currently pursuing a Master of Science (MS) degree in Human Computer Interaction at DePaul University, starting in 2021.
