Accreditation Commissioner (5 Year Term) at American Alliance of Museums

Melissa Russo, CFRE, currently serves as the Chief Financial & Administrative Officer at the USCAP - United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology since November 2022. In addition, Melissa holds a five-year term as an Accreditation Commissioner for the American Alliance of Museums, overseeing independent accreditation decisions. Previous roles include Director of the San Bernardino County Museum, where Melissa focused on cultural and natural history, and Director of Institutional Advancement at Chabot Space & Science Center. Melissa also served as Executive Director for both the Western Museums Association and Pardee Foundation and Museum. Earlier career experiences include positions at John F. Kennedy University as Adjunct Faculty in Museum Studies, Registrar at Glessner House Museum, and in corporate lending and trading at National Westminster Bank PLC. Melissa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from UCLA and a Master of Arts in Art History from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
