Rachel Fleming has extensive experience in program coordination and community engagement within health and wellness initiatives. Currently serving as Stewardship Manager and previously as Development Coordinator at the American Alpine Club since July 2021, Rachel has contributed significantly to outdoor recreation efforts. Prior to this, Rachel worked as the Bull City Fit Program Coordinator at Duke University Health System, where the focus was on promoting physical activity among children and families. Additional roles include a community engagement position at East Durham Children's Initiative and a Research Assistant position within the EASIR Laboratory, where Rachel conducted data analysis and study coordination. Rachel has also held leadership positions at SAS summer camps and supervised climbing activities at the University of North Carolina Campus Recreation, demonstrating a strong commitment to youth development and safety in active environments. Rachel holds a double major in Exercise & Sport Science and Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
