Jessica Vogelsang Dvm

Jessica Vogelsang, DVM has a diverse work experience in the veterinary field. Jessica currently holds the position of Chief Medical Officer at the American Animal Hospital Association since September 2021. Prior to that, from February 2021 to September 2021, they worked as a Veterinary Content Strategist for the same organization.

In 2009, they founded Pawcurious Media, LLC, where they served as an Author, Speaker, Media Expert, and Consultant. Jessica ran an award-winning website focused on pet health, photography, and feature articles. Additionally, they offered freelance writing services related to veterinary topics.

From 2014, Jessica worked as an Author for Grand Central Publishing, where they wrote a memoir titled "All Dogs Go to Kevin." The book explores their experiences as a veterinarian and the lessons they learned from their three dogs.

Between 2016 and 2018, they held the role of Editorial Director at DrAndyRoark.com, a media company in the veterinary industry. Jessica was responsible for creating an editorial calendar, curating content, and fostering new talent. During this time, they also developed the branding and messaging for the Uncharted Veterinary Conference.

In 2016, Jessica served as a Subject Matter Expert for National Geographic, contributing their expertise in veterinary topics.

Earlier in their career, they worked as a Veterinarian at Paws into Grace from June 2013 to January 2016, and as a General Practice Veterinarian at Pawcurious LLC from December 2002 to June 2013.

Jessica Vogelsang, DVM pursued their education in the field of Veterinary Medicine. Jessica obtained their Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from the University of California, Davis. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology at Loyola Marymount University. In addition to their formal education, Jessica possesses additional certifications including being a Veterinary Acupuncturist from IVAS, which they obtained in February 2006. Jessica also holds the certification of Certified Pet Loss Counselor from the Association for Pet Loss and Bereavement. Furthermore, Jessica is a Certified Veterinary Journalist affiliated with the American Society of Veterinary Journalists.
